GuiTabs 0.1.0: Songsterr and Ultimate Guitar on your LED fretboard

GuiTabs is a Chrome extension that connects the tab you are reading to the LEDs on your LiteJam fretboard. Open a song on Songsterr, press play, and the frets to press light up on the neck in time with the music: the beat being played, the next one, and the ones coming up. On an Ultimate Guitar chord sheet it reads the chords, works out the key and scale, and lights the notes that fit.

It is free. No account, no subscription, no ads, nothing to unlock. It talks to the fretboard directly from your browser over Bluetooth and does not send anything to a server.

• Follows Songsterr playback on the track you picked: current, next and upcoming beats, each with its own brightness.
• Detects the key and scale of a Songsterr track or an Ultimate Guitar chord sheet, shows how well each candidate fits, and lets you pick another one.
• Scale lights: the whole neck, only the area near the notes being played, the scale of each chord as the harmony moves, or one box of five notes that fits the whole song.
• Song notes: every fret position the song actually uses, limited to the fret range you choose.
• Transpose control that follows Ultimate Guitar's own transpose.
• Practice: run the detected scale, arpeggiate the song's chords, or play a composed melody in the song's key, at the song's tempo.
• Inlay frets can stay lit, the panel can be dragged anywhere, and the fretboard reconnects by itself after a page refresh.

System requirements

• Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge on a computer (Windows, macOS, Linux or ChromeOS)
• Bluetooth on that computer, for the LEDs
• A LiteJam LED fretboard. Without one the panel still shows the detected key, scale and chords.
